Welcome to Photography!
Photography class was designed to help students build perspective and empathy in an innovative, student-centered learning environment. In this class we will utilize authentic field experiences and cutting edge photographic techniques and equipment. The curriculum will lead students in an inquiry process to explore how photography can allow students to communicate their viewpoints and evoke appreciation of others’ feelings in the viewer as well as in themselves. A Visual Journal will be utilized to write, think, draw, collect, take notes and plan projects. The course will incorporate differentiated learning in order to meet the needs of every student in our class. Some of the efforts will include, for example, video demonstrations, class critiques, focus on student choice with the goal of making everyone responsible for their own learning.
