Every year, we have students who are unable to purchase all of their school supplies on their own, but we are constantly amazed by how the St. Louis community rallies together to give these students the materials they need to learn in school. This year was no exception, as Lift For Life Academy received amazing school supply donations from individuals and organizations alike.
Over the summer, Abigail Mann, daughter to the late LFLA Board President John Mann, delivered a whole car-full of school supplies that she had collected as part of her Bat Mitzvah project. We’re so grateful that she is continuing her father’s legacy of giving back.
At the beginning of our teacher’s professional development week, a representative from the Community School dropped off school supplies and another special donation. The students in the Community School’s summer program did a project where they created greeting cards and sold them to raise money for the LFLA library, ultimately raising $364!
Later in the week, we got a visit from our old friend, Chase Pultman. For the last two years, Chase has held a school supply drive at his school to help collect supplies for LFLA students. This year, he was back at it again, donating more school supplies than ever before from the generous students at his school.
We also received large school supply donations from the Carondelet Throwback group, David & Jean Cowell, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis and Vatterott College.
On the Friday before school started, all of the classroom materials were lined up in the main lobby for the LFLA Teacher School Supply Buffet, where teachers could go through and grab all of the extra supplies they needed for their classrooms. The lobby echoed with laughter, cheering and smiles as the teachers got supplies that would help them in educating, empowering and uplifting their students.
We are so grateful to all of the individuals and organizations who helped make our classrooms even more special with their donations. Thank you from the entire LFLA family!
