Our young scholars are learning to literally plant seeds like carrots, beets, mustard greens, spinach and more. It’s a chance for them to watch seeds grow and learn to nurture seedlings. Not only is it a educational experience but it gives them time to be outdoors and focus their energy on constructive activities. It has a calming effect on their behavior. Once the plants are ready to harvest, the students are able to take some home to their families and show off their accomplishments. In addition, our chef utilizes the vegetables for various menus items. It’s a win-win all around and we will definitely be continuing this initiative.
