Both the middle and high schools are using a virtual learning model to ensure the utmost safety for our students and staff. To facilitate this approach, administration is working to ensure that each student has a Chromebook or computer and internet access. Teachers have worked all summer to develop enriching activities and assignments to stimulate the virtual learning experiences that students require.
For students who need extra support or have learning disabilities, we created the Satellite Academy, offering in-person learning daily. There are four classes with approximately 8 – 10 students per class which allows for social distancing. Masks are required.
At the elementary school, students are attending school in-person two days and virtually three days. This gives them time for in-person social development but also ensures safety. All elementary students and staff are wearing face masks and surprisingly, the children are readily adapting to them. Each classroom is cleaned and disinfected on a frequent basis.
LATEST UPDATE – JULY 29th, 2020
Lift for Life Academy families can choose from two learning pathway options for the 2020/2021 school year.
Option 1: students will attend school in tier 1, 2 or 3 based on COVID-factors.
Currently, Middle School and High School is in tier 3, and students will be doing teacher-led remote learning until further notice (see detailed information below). If students opt into this option, when the school deems it safe to move to tier 2 or tier 1, students will return to campus for learning.
Currently, Elementary School is in tier 2, and students will be doing blended learning until further notice).
Option 2: students will learn via a 100% online pathway.
For middle school and high school, this program is 100% student and parent driven and will run through a state-approved virtual learning platform for middle school and high school
For elementary school, this program is primarily student and parent driven with support from a virtual teacher
Students who choose this option must remain on this at-home online program for at least one full semester, even if the Academy moves to tier 2 or tier 1.
