Parents’ Rights

  • Parents have the right to expect that a quality education will be provided to their children.
  • Parents have the right to expect that their children will be taught properly and appropriately in a safe academy environment.
  • Parents have the right to receive information about the progress of their child/children.
  • Parents have the right to know the highly qualified status of their child’s teachers.

Parents’ Responsibilities

  • Parents have the responsibility to maintain open lines of communication with their children, teachers and the educational support staff; and to be available to assist as needed.
  • Parents have the responsibility to support the efforts of classroom teachers and the educational support staff in maintaining appropriate student behavior.
  • Parents have the responsibility to promote in their children a positive attitude toward work and responsibilities.
  • Parents have the responsibility to make sure their children attend school regularly and must contact the Academy office each time a student is absent.
  • Parents have the responsibility to monitor and promote the academic progress of their children.
  • Parents have the responsibility to promote a home environment that encourages study, research and acquisition of knowledge and skills.
  • Parents have the responsibility to be familiar with the Behavior Guidelines of the Academy.

Progress Reports

  • Progress reports are notices from teachers/teams to parents alerting them on academic progress.  Reports will be distributed to students to take home during each Mission/Quarter.  Students who are in jeopardy of failing a class will receive a progress report via mail bi-weekly for grades 6-9.  Grades 10-12 will receive progress reports during the 5th week of the mission/quarter.

Parent-Teacher Conferences & Report Cards

  • Lift For Life Academy issues report cards at the completion of each Mission/Quarter (four times a year).
  • Lift For Life Academy encourages supportive parent-teacher interaction at all times during the course of the year.  Your student’s teacher/team will provide contact numbers to arrange a parent-teacher conference.

Transferring of student records and/or record request

  • If a parent is transferring a student to a new school, student records must be requested via fax by the new school.  We will not release complete records to parents.
